Seeing Red

A minimalist fashion study featuring Sterling T. against a vibrant, monochromatic backdrop.

I wanted to see how much energy I could pull from a single color. I placed Sterling Thunack in a studio completely saturated in red to create a high-impact, clean environment. She is lying down in a short black dress and heels, creating a long, elegant line that cuts right through the center of the frame. The story is about the simplicity of style. When you have a model who knows how to hold a pose and a background that demands attention, you do not need anything else. I used a soft light to make the red background transition smoothly into a brighter orange-red, which makes Sterling's blonde hair and black outfit stand out with perfect clarity. This shot is a reminder that the best fashion photography is often just about the right person in the right light.
